There You Sleep

There you sleep so peacefully napping
The image of you in my heart everlasting
I look upon your beauty, I think myself lucky
Every time you are near me, or say you love me
You saved me from myself, my hurt, and my pain
Lonely I was, but now never again
I love you so deeply, more than I've ever loved before
Still every day I find I love you even more
Love, sweet love, I keep saying the word
When you say it to me it's the sweetest I've heard
Now you take rest in beautiful slumber
I lay down beside you and my mind starts to wander
Wandering through places I've not been before
Places only you could have taken me, you've opened a door
I used to be shy, scared and unsure
You took my hand, and now it's no more
You made me see life was a gift
Never taken for granted, my spirits you lift
Now I'm falling asleep next to you
I love you, my darling, as I know you love to
