Nameless Female

From across the room I see her there
A nameless female who returns my stare
I avert my eyes and feel myself blush
My heart pounding from the adrenaline rush
She starts towards me, my palms begin to sweat
The closer she is, the more nervous I get
For in truth I am shy, sometimes painfully so
Now she's only a few feet away, I've nowhere to go
She say's "hi" and flashes her smile
Her eyes sparkle, I fumble like a child
I say hello, and stammer the word
What must she think? "Damn, what a nerd!"
But we keep talking, and I feel more at ease
I compliment her beauty, she seems to be pleased
I ask her name, and she replies with a grin
"Someone," she says, "who's heart you could win."
