An Irish Castle Fantasy

We're on an early spring vacation in Ireland. Today we have been touring the countryside, seeing all the land begin its return to the classic Irish green! We stopped for lunch in a quaint and cozy Irish pub. The food was delicious, and we had a couple pints o' Guinness.
After lunch we continued our tour of the countryside, and now it's beginning to get dark so we decide to head back to our hotel. It's then we discover we're lost! What shall we do? We drive a few miles, or kilometers being that we're in Europe, and shortly we see a building up ahead. It's a castle! Hmmm… it's not listed in our tour guide. So we stop at the castle; it would be better to spend the night there rather than in the car. The evening has become quite cool, so I grab a blanket from the trunk and we head into the castle as the night is looming.
The castle is run down, it must be ancient. It's not much warmer in here, but it's dry and we'll be out of the wind. I look and see that the fireplace looks quite useable, though there's nothing to use for fuel to build a fire. So we find a spot to sit, and snuggle up closely to keep warm.
Though we were wide awake when we entered the castle, strangely we are growing very tired. We can't seem to keep our eyes open, and sleep overtakes us.
When we awake a little while later we are amazed to find the castle transformed! A blazing, warm fire has been laid in the fireplace. The room adorned with rich furnishings, rugs cover the floor, and tapestries hang from the walls. We notice a table set with a lavish dinner. We're totally puzzled, thinking we must be dreaming, but both of us? We might as well go with it, so we head to the table to see what's there. Looks good, seems real, and we're famished so we dive in. The food is delicious! The wine tastes finer than the most expensive French label. It's an exquisite meal.
While we were eating we noticed music is playing from somewhere in the castle, so after we finish our meal we start to explore the castle, and try to find the source of the music. The castle isn't very large; probably the former residence of some minor lord of the land, but it's adorned with many beautiful things. The decorations in the castle seem to be very old. A few suits of armor, swords and weapons hung on the walls, along with many fabulous oil paintings.
We can't seem to locate the source of the music, so we decide to surrender to the magic of the castle. We know the castle is here, and we're not dreaming. We may as well relish the enchantment.
When we return to the main room we see the table has been cleared, but the bottle of wine we were drinking has been replaced with another one. There's no label on this one, and the bottle looks as old as the castle itself! Throwing caution to the wind we open the bottle. Pouring us each a glass it's the color of white wine, but it looks somehow different. There seems to be a sparkle to the wine. Not bubbles like Champagne, it's almost like light or stars in the liquid. We cautiously take a sip… it's the most wonderfully delicious wine we've ever tasted! A feeling comes over us. We've not had enough wine to become drunk, and it's not quite the same feeling. It's like a content warmness surrounding our bodies. Not just like magic, it's like we are magic come to life!
We go to sit on the couch in front of the fireplace, taking the bottle of strange wine with us of course! For a moment we sit close, sipping the wine, and watching the fire.
Then I kiss you. I can taste the wine on your lips along with your own sweetness! We're kissing tenderly, but our kisses are becoming more passionate. The affects of the wine, or maybe it's just ourselves, are that the rest of the world has disappeared. It's like just the two of us alone with our passion. Time seems to stand still. Our kisses are like nothing we've ever experienced between us. It's almost like a surreal feeling.
Our passion is consuming us. Like a fire that must be released then quenched. So we give way to our feelings and make sweet, wonderful love by the fireside in the castle. Our bodies perform like we are reading each other's minds. We're in perfect rapport, and the intensity of our pleasure is almost overwhelming. Finally we give out; exhausted by the depth of our lovemaking, we fall asleep in each other's arms.
It's the next morning when we awake. The sun is shining brightly through the castle's windows, and the birds are singing their joyous morning songs. Looking to the table we see a light breakfast has been laid out for us. We are quiet this morning, but as we dine we are all smiles to each other.
After our breakfast we sit in front of the fireplace. Talking about how strange, enchanting, and wonderful everything has been. Before we know it we have fallen asleep again. When we wake up we can tell we hadn't been asleep very long by the angle of the sun, but the castle has been returned to its appearance when we found it. Oh well, what can we do. We should see if we can find out way back to our hotel. As we are walking back to the car I realize I now know the way back. We're no longer lost!
We drive back to the hotel in contented silence. The memory of our magical night etched in out minds forever.
