The Poetry of Sylvan Shadowolf

See her there, so grand and majestic
The "unsinkable" colossus, her name Titanic
Rich with ornamentation, class and finery
All who board her take notice of the beauty
Nothing seemed spared to make her the best
But on her maiden voyage she sank like the rest
All had seemed well, it was going as planned
Then tragedy struck, the voyage was damned
From out of the darkness, it loomed ahead
And was seen too late, imagine the dread
A terrible crash as metal met ice
Water rushed in, she sank in the night
As she was sinking it became also clear
Too few lifeboats to save all who were there
Many would die for so stupid a find
Not to clutter the decks, to distract from her lines
As she sank and slipped under the surface
They clung to wherever they could find purchase
Filled with the ocean, the ship broke in two
Stern came crashing, down upon more than a few
The final moments are now drawing near
Many voices screaming, with no one to hear
A lonely death awaits for those in the sea
The water so cold it was hard to breath
The lucky died quickly, not to suffer the pain
For some it would be longer before life's refrain
Clinging to a piece of what was left of the ship
Freezing and shaking, under the surface they'd slip
The lifeboats returned to find nary a soul
Most had died, succumbed to the cold
They pulled from the water only a few
Over fifteen hundred died before the night was through
History has taught us no ship can be
Sinkable it was, as all in the sea
